Kajol’s silk kurta set places Marodi embroidery front and centre

In Kajol’s kurta set by Lajjoo C, Marodi embroidery establishes the neckline and sleeves as the primary points of attention.

The kurta is crafted in fine silk and cut in a straight, relaxed silhouette. Marodi floral embroidery runs along the neckline, centred with a drop paan motif. The sleeves carry smaller Marodi motifs and finish with embroidered organza at the hem, creating a clear edge to the sleeve. The wide-legged silk pants feature floral embroidery along the hem, repeating the detailing from the kurta without shifting its placement upward.

Styled by Radhika Mehra, the accessories stay within the same colour range. Gold earrings pick up the tone of the embroidery and are paired with mule heels by Fizzy Goblet. Hair is worn with a side part and natural texture.

Makeup artist Pallavi Symons keeps the beauty look pared back, with an even luminous base, softly defined brows, neutral eyes with kohl along the lash line and a muted rose lip.

“Swap the footwear for a pair of strappy heels in butter yellow and the hoops for a pair of chandbalis. Rather than going with the mid-part straight hair, go for natural textures with a side sweep to give it that effortless glam look. finish off with an embroidered potli in gold,” says Vogue India fashion associate Manglien Gangte.
