‘It was a nightmare’: Shooting injures man at Cherry Hill’s Luxury Studios

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (WPVI) — Investigators in Camden County are trying to track down a gunman after a shooting at a Cherry Hill recording studio on Thursday afternoon.

It happened inside Luxury Studios in Cherry Hill.

Studio manager Ezrah Archie says he got a call from one of his staff members shortly before 4 p.m.

“Someone was shot in the studio,” said Archie. “It was a nightmare. Something I never could imagine.”

According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, officers were called to the studio around 4:13 p.m. and found a 36-year-old man shot and injured. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital and listed in stable condition.

Surveillance footage shows several people running from the recording studio and then leaving the building.

“On the cameras, you hear the gunshot go off and you see the people who are in the studio all run out,” said Archie.

Archie says this was a last-minute booking for the studio space, and the group had never recorded there before. He says security measures will be increased going forward.

“Definitely going to tighten up the house rules,” said Archie. “Moving forward, it’s just kind of just cracking down and really honing in on the community that wants to do better.”

Police have not released a motive, but staff at the studio say there was an argument about the song they were recording.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
