Into the wild with Louis Vuitton for AW26

Into the wild with Louis Vuitton for AW26

Nature has always influenced the way we dress – but for Louis Vuitton’s Autumn Winter 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week, Nicolas Ghesquière made it the entire blueprint. Titled Super Nature, the collection explored clothing as an instinctive response to landscape: mountains, forests and open plains translated into silhouettes built for endurance, protection and movement.

The set…

Staged in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre, the show took place inside an imagined “neo-landscape” devised by production designer Jeremy Hindle. Models moved through a futuristic pastoral set that looked like something out of Minecraft. Lush green hills were refracted – almost distorted – through pixelation; an overt coalescence of environment and technology.

The clothes…

Across the runway, garments carried traces of the outdoors. Animal-inspired motifs appeared reworked across canvas and denim, while sculptural leather flowers bloomed on coats and dresses. Textures evoked the terrain itself: leather treated to resemble wood grain; vegetal furs that appeared to mirror tufts of grass carpeting a coatl; and three-dimensional printed details mimicking minerals or antlers.

The silhouettes leaned toward extremes – sharp-shouldered protective layers, voluminous outerwear, headgear, and sharply defined shapes that felt mountainous in energy, as if also carved by elemental forces. Collage-like constructions merged disparate references, mapping a kind of topography across the body. The result was clothing that felt somehow both ancient and forward-facing, drawing on the visual language of traditional costume while being squeezed through more contemporary silhouettes.

The accessories…

Accessories followed the same exploratory spirit. The House revived its Noé bag in its original 1932 proportions and colours, while other pieces emphasised Vuitton’s legacy in travel and leather craftsmanship. Jewellery referencing Man Ray’s modernist aesthetic appeared reinterpreted with trunk-inspired nail-head studs, bridging the brand’s past with its evolving design language.
