“You have to get to her before it’s too late…”
With Christmas just around the corner, January’s release slate is slowly moving towards showtime. And of course, that includes Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting’s Return to Silent Hill.
So, it’s the perfect time for one last trailer… and this one will hit you right in the heart!
Giving us a much better look at the atmospheric goings-on, the teaser wastes no time in establishing the driving force behind Return to Silent Hill. Jeremy Irvine’s James is seen reading a letter from his missing “soulmate” Mary.
The letter implores him to return to “their place,” which just so happens to be Silent Hill… And upon arriving, finding the town abandoned, with only a few people remaining he can ask for help.
However, his arrival appears to wake… something. Suddenly the fog-shrouded town is alive with sinister creatures and maze-like passages. Despite his ebbing sanity, and a series of increasingly terrifying events, James persists in his quest to find his beloved. However, is he being lured into a trap with each brief glimpse he catches of Mary?
Said to be a “faithful” adaption of the hit video game Silent Hill 2, Return to Silent Hill brings Christope Gans back to the franchise. Gans had previously directed 2006’s Silent Hill, and again serves as both writer and director on Return.
After being passed over by several major studios, Return to Silent Hill eventually found a home with Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting after two years on the shelf.
The film will hit screens on January 23rd 2025, and you can catch the final teaser below:
