Team India have registered their third title, defended it, and won it as the host nation. This is a great record in the T20 World Cup, as no team has managed to pull this off. Their final match, outplaying New Zealand in every way, was cheered by billions of fans across the country and the world. However, something strange has been picked up lately by the fans. Indian fans unhappy as they dig at team India’s rigged World Cup victory.
Yes, you read that right. It has been going on social media, especially on Twitter/X where Indian fans have shown dissatisfaction over their team’s victory against New Zealand in a dominating performance at Ahmedabad. India, which put on a record total in the tournament’s history at the Finals, went on to win by 96 runs, another record.
The one common thing fans have noticed is the change of wicket for Team India. The Men in Blue suffered a humiliating defeat against South Africa in their opening Super 8 fixture, where they were bowled out for 111 in pursuit of 188. Since then, India’s next four fixtures saw them score a total above 250-plus (except for the game against the West Indies, where they chased 196).
This common factor has left the Indian fans questioning their credibility to actually win the trophy and labelled the team as “Flat Track Bullies” and calling out the BCCI and ICC for not preparing “IPL Kind of wickets” in a world event.
