Imran Abbas’s Emotional Poetry for His Mother

Imran Abbas is a renowned Pakistani television and film actor with a strong following on Instagram and other social media platforms. He currently has 8.7 million followers on Instagram. His hit dramas include Mohabbat Tum Se Nafrat Hai, Khuda Aur Mohabbat, Meri Zaat Zara-e-Benishan, Noor Ul Ain, Mera Naam Yousaf Hai, and Akbari Asghari. He is also known for being vocal about issues concerning his fraternity.

Recently, Imran Abbas attended an event called Jashn-e-Jaun Elia in Islamabad, dedicated to Urdu poetry and the famous poet Jaun Elia.

During the event, he became emotional while sharing a poem he wrote for his mother after her passing. He recited, “Ankhein dhoondte dhoondte thak gayi eidi dene wale haath. Meri nazar utarney wale aur woh sadqa dete haath. Kitni saari baatein thin jo kehni thin tab bhool gaya. Mere haath se chhoot rahe the jab woh tere thandey haath – I got tired of searching for those hands that used to give me Eidi, protect me through their prayers, and give sadqa. There was still so much I wanted to say when I saw myself losing my mother right before my eyes.” Watch here:

Imran Abbas wrote in the comments, “I wrote this on the first Eid after losing my mother. From the depths of my heart, thank you all for this overwhelming love and appreciation. I humbly ask you to please remember my mother, my father, and my sister in your prayers. May Allah grant long, healthy lives to your parents, and may He shower His infinite mercy upon those who have left this world, elevating them to the highest ranks in Jannah. JazaakAllah!”

Social media users were moved by his words. One fan wrote, “Oh young man, the way you recited this poem was heartbreaking; you made me emotional and teary-eyed.” Fans continue to praise his emotions and are resharing his poetry in the comments:
