Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi’s eight year long harassment case finally ended yesterday when court proved Ali Zafar as winner and fined Meesha Shafi. The controversy between the two started in April 2018 after Meesha Shafi accused Ali Zafar of harassment. The harassment allegations were strongly denied by Ali Zafar and his family and they filed a defamation case against Meesha Shafi.
Yesterday, the court announced the verdict in Ali Zafar’s defamation case against Meesha Shafi after 8 years according to which Ali Zafar was declared innocent while Meesha Shafi was fined 5 million rupees.
Iqrar ul Hassan Syed and many other celebrities came in favour of Ali Zafar, while iffat Omar is standing strong with Meesha Shafi despite the court’s decision against her.
In his X post, Iqrar ul Hassan used harsh remarks against Meesha Shafi. He wrote: “Ali Zafar has won the case filed against him by Meesha Shafi regarding allegations of sexual harassment, and the court has imposed a fine of five million rupees on Meesha Shafi. Compared to the pain and circumstances Ali Zafar went through because of this false allegation, this fine and punishment are extremely minor. In such cases, women who make false accusations should be made an example of, as they weaken the cases of women who are genuinely victims of sexual harassment. Nevertheless, Ali Zafar deserves congratulations for remaining steadfast in this matter and for taking the false accuser to her logical conclusion.”
Iffat Omer, who is already protesting against the injustice with Meesha Shafi, slammed anchorperson Iqrar ul Hassan Syed for his one-sided and insensitive statement regarding the matter.
Taking his post to her Instagram Iffat Omer wrote: He calls himself a champion of women’s rights—what a sick man. What do you mean by women like this??? Not all women are animals who blindly believe someone, like the ones on your side. You have been the most disgusting host all your life, and yes, quite an example of a “happy life”. You have blackmailed people, have zero grace as a TV personality, and yet you come out in support of an accused harasser. Read here:
Besides this, many people are supporting Ali Zafar. Influencers like Ejaz Waris and Mahwas Ajaz openly rendered their support for Ali Zafar and celebrated his win saying he had been through a lot during these eight years because of Meesha Shafi’s baseless allegations. Watch videos here:
