An anime adaptation of the Bad End Mokuzen no Heroine ni Tensei shita Watashi, Konse de wa Renai suru Tsumori ga Cheat na Ani ga Hanashite kuremasen!? light novel series, which has a manga adaptation published in English as I Was Reincarnated as the Heroine on the Verge of a Bad Ending, and I’m Determined to Fall in Love!, has been announced.

The light novel series debuted in 2022 under TO Books’ Celica Novels label and will release its 10th volume in Japan on March 1, 2026. Kotoko penned the books and the preceding web novel that started serialization on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2021. Tsukasa Satsuki drew the illustrations up till Volume 2, with Kei Kumanomi taking over for subsequent volumes (Satsuki is credited as original character designer from Volume 8).
Meanwhile, the I Was Reincarnated as the Heroine on the Verge of a Bad Ending, and I’m Determined to Fall in Love! manga is drawn by Ikuto Nanase. Tokyopop describes the manga as such:
She was just an ordinary dating-sim enthusiast, happily playing through routes and collecting happy endings. Then she woke up in the body of Reina Waynewright—the heroine of her favorite game.
There’s just one problem: she’s not at the beginning of the story. She’s near the end. And every flag points toward the Bad Ending.
No confession scenes. No romantic moments. No happily ever after. Just disaster waiting to happen.
But our heroine isn’t about to accept that fate. Armed with her extensive knowledge of the game, she’s determined to grind her way to a better outcome. She’ll raise her stats. Make better choices. Build genuine friendships. And maybe—just maybe—find real love along the way.
