A trailer has been released for the upcoming I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day TV anime, with the footage largely centering on the innocent Mimi Kagari.
The trailer drop was accompanied by an expanded staff list that features some changes from what was previously known. Yasushi Tomoda (The Elusive Samurai Episode 7 director, I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day pilot film co-unit director), who was listed as assistant director, is now the director, while original director Takudai Kakuchi (In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki, I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day pilot film storyboarder and co-unit director) has shifted to a creative advisor role. Serving as the new assistant director is Nao Enomoto.
It was also announced that the four main cast members of the show, an adaptation of the dark fantasy yuri manga by Nachi Aono, will appear on stage at KADOKAWA’s AnimeJapan 2026 booth.
I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day is scheduled for a July broadcast premiere. Kodansha USA describes the synopsis of the manga as such:
An orphanage for girls is actually a boot camp, turning out magical child soldiers for a gruesome war. Yet love finds a way to blossom amid bloodshed, in this dramatic, much-anticipated yuri manga that is spiritual kin to the likes of Revolutionary Girl Utena, Otherside Picnic, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury.
The Ichijinsha-published manga debuted in Comic Yuri Hime in 2018 and is currently running on Ichijin Plus. There are eight main volumes as of March 2025.
