It’s the last month of the year and believe it or not there are still some thrills left in 2025. From sequels to reboots to found footage, December has got some surprising scares; even one on Christmas Day, although to be fair that one’s more of a horror/comedy.
We’ve listed nine titles below, some are theatrical releases while others are either on streaming platforms or VOD.
Two of note are Man Finds Tape, a found footage movie which has generated some buzz, and Anaconda, the Black/Rudd adventure horror-comedy.
We’re also excited for Dust Bunny, the latest from director Bryan Fuller, the writer of Hannibal (TV series) and Heroes (TV series).

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (Theatrical)
One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.

Man Finds Tape (Limited Theatrical Release)
Lucas Page’s (William Magnuson) viral YouTube channel “Man Finds Tape” features a series of creepy home videos. When he reaches out to his sister, Lynn (Kelsey Pribilski), with surveillance footage of a murder in their hometown, she reluctantly returns to help him investigate the homicide. In doing so, Lynn uncovers a disturbing secret tied to a decades-old supernatural phenomena that casts doubt on whether anyone in town can be trusted. The arrival of a stranger (Brian Villalobos) with destructive intentions forces Lynn to confront her family’s role in a terrifying legend tied to a deadly monster stalking Larkin, TX.
