NHK has announced an anime adaptation of the Horror Collector (Kyofu Collector) children’s novel series with a fall 2026 premiere date and an image visual.
According to NHK’s synopsis, the premise involves a red hooded boy called Fushigi Senno who is collecting manifested urban legends. His goal is to seize Himitsu, a girl who can cause urban legends to materialize.

The books are authored by Midori Sato with Norio Tsuruta (director of Ring 0: Birthday and Orochi) as supervisor and Yon as illustrator. KADOKAWA publishes them under the KADOKAWA Tsubasa Bunko label. The first volume was released in 2015, and there are 26 as of June 2025.
