Early January saw Littlehampton’s fun and vibrant Southeast Asian restaurant Honey Bang Bang relaunched under new management, and their approach has been incredibly interactive and driven.
Hailey and Montie Waraich (of Singapore House fame) previously owned and managed the venue for approximately five-years; however, when the new owner, Tony Virk, and manager Amy Virk made their entrance, they undertook communications with their clientele quite personally, with an inspirational focus on being welcoming and approachable.
“We always wanted to start a small business, and we were searching for several months. Eventually, we discovered in November 2025 that there was a lovely restaurant with a good customer base in the Adelaide Hills, and that’s when we approached Hailey and Montie.” Amy says.
“Our mission is that every customer is very important to us, and we will always prioritise them, as well as their feedback, to ensure we keep improving ourselves.”
Initially offering takeaway options only, Amy and Tony Virk were quick to seek out the needs and desires of their customers. Their first action was opening the location up for dine-in opportunities, then the next all-important phase was understanding what other interests and recommendations their clientele sought out.
“We did a soft opening, starting with the takeaway options first. A lovely customer expressed their desire to come in for a dine-in experience, so we started offering that opportunity as soon as we could.” Amy discloses.
The progress and proactive undertaking continued in a passionate manner. As one loyal patron responded to a Honey Bang Bang social media post: “Just a point to note that prior to the changeover, the takeaway pricing increased substantially and food quantities reduced…”
The Honey Bang Bang team were quick to respond and review the situation. Their endearing course of action was both inviting and inspiring: “Thanks for the honest feedback. We really appreciate it. Under the new ownership, we’re reviewing pricing and portion sizes to make sure they’re fair and consistent. Your input helps us improve.”
Actions were promptly put into place and were not only beneficial but they were also superbly driven by goodwill for their customers. Amy and Tony Virk were quick to update their menu prices and ensured that their promise of their food being “made from as much locally sourced produce as possible to deliver flavour bangs of high quality” was magnificently maintained. They also upgraded their weekend specials to daily offers, offered attractive discounts on particular purchases, and attained a liquor license to charmingly complement their fine cuisine.
“You asked. We Listened. We’ve updated our menu prices and are doing our best to keep things fair while serving fresh, made-from-scratch food every day. Your support and feedback really help us grow and do better. Thank you for standing with us.” Honey Bang Bang posted.
“We listened to our customers, and the local families – that was very important to us. We reduced the prices, and that has quickly brought some positive changes! It has boosted regular bookings and so much more.” Amy describes Honey Bang Bang’s open communication endeavour.
The exciting developments continue to emerge for the loved Littlehampton restaurant. A recent acquisition of a liquor license has ensured that the patrons can enjoy an array of alcoholic beverages with their hearty Southeast Asian cuisine. While the menu has remained consistent with the delicious choices from the previous owners, Amy reveals that there are more compelling enhancements in the pipeline.
“The menu is pretty much the same, but everything is locally sourced, fresh and made from scratch every day. We are looking forward to adding some more items to the menu, exploring more gluten-free options as well.
“With our liquor license, our customers are now enjoying our refreshing cocktails, and a different range of wines from multiple regions, including the Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley, Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. We are looking forward to making Honey Bang Bang more successful, more popular, and a must-visit restaurant in the Adelaide Hills well into the future.”
Honey Bang Bang is open for evening bookings and takeaway every day from 5pm (excluding Mondays), and with a recent Valentine’s Day special announcement through their social media, doesn’t that pour honey into your ears?
