I’m not talking about the Oscars, here. It’s too late to draft one of the finest wide receivers in NFL history — but not too late to get his cousin. With the AJ Brown still in Eagle green the week of St. Patrick’s Day — the Eagles signed former Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown. If the Eagles receiving corps stays intact through the off-season — Brown and his one-year $6.5 Million contract will fill an important role vacated by former Penn State Star Santana Dotson — who signed with the Atlanta Falcons this week in the first few days of free agency.
And with Dallas Goedert re-signing this week for another season — it adds yet another weapon.
After playing high school football in Florida — Brown became at All-American at the University of Oklahoma. In the spring of 2019 — while Jalen Hurts was heading to Madison — Hollywood was leaving Oklahoma for the NFL Draft.
In 2019 — he was the first selection of the Baltimore Ravens with the 25th selection in the first round of the NFL Draft. His best season with the Ravens was sctually 2021 — hauling in 91 receptions for over 1,000 yards and six scores.
In 2026 — like the Eagles offense — Hollywood Brown will be looking for a rejuvenation of his own after a season-ending injury in 2024 and multiple injuries in 2025 with the Chiefs. With AJ Brown’s future uncertain, Ainias Smith now in Carolina, Jahan Dotson now with the Falcons, and Johnny Wilson recovering from a serious injury — he may just find it.
Right here in Philadelphia.
