Fast bowler Haris Rauf has shared a light-hearted story involving his Lahore Qalandars teammate Harry Brook, revealing that the English batter was once left disappointed after narrowly missing out on a team reward.
Speaking during the PSL Roadshow at London’s iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, where he appeared alongside Babar Azam and Sahibzada Farhan in a conversation hosted by Wasim Akram, Rauf recalled how Qalandars owner Sameen Rana used to motivate players by announcing a free iPhone for the best fielder in every match.
Rauf said foreign players would sprint across the field with extra enthusiasm, joking that during matches only one phrase echoed around them: “Run for iPhone!”
He then shared a humorous incident involving Harry Brook. According to Rauf, almost every player eventually earned a free iPhone, except Brook.
During one match, Brook put in an exceptional fielding effort, covering nearly the entire ground, but still didn’t win the reward. The disappointment, Rauf said, left the young English batter “almost in tears.”
Feeling sympathy for him, Haris and a few teammates eventually pooled together and gifted Brook an iPhone so he wouldn’t feel left out.
Adding to the fun, Sahibzada Farhan joked during the session that everyone seemed to end up with an iPhone except him, quipping that whenever he performed well, the team somehow lost, costing him his chance at the prize.
