Gujranwala, widely known as the city of wrestlers in Pakistan and around the world, is set to host the Rustum-e-Pakistan Dangal, one of the country’s largest traditional wrestling events, on January 16 at Jinnah Stadium.
The announcement was made by Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Haider, who said that wrestling fans from across the country are expected to attend the event.
The main contest will feature a high-profile clash between two leading wrestlers from Gujranwala, Adnan Tyranwala and Gulzar, popularly known as Gulu. Both athletes have earned recognition for their performances at national and international levels.
The Rustum-e-Pakistan Dangal is regarded as one of the most anticipated wrestling events in the country, where top wrestlers compete for the prestigious title and national pride.
The winner of the event will receive the Rustum-e-Pakistan mace along with a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 million, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs. 1 million.
