Fears are growing in Texas’ Bexar County where a body has been found nearly a week after teen Camila Mendoza Olmos disappeared near her San Antonio home.
Ms Olmos, 19, vanished while taking an early morning walk on Christmas Eve and was last seen close to her home around 7am.
Days after the teen went missing, investigators warned she could be in “imminent danger”, and were concerned she could have been trafficked across the US border.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazer said the body, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was found by investigators in a field close to Olmos’ home.
A gun was located at the scene where the body was found.
A firearm belonging to a relative of Ms Olmos’ has been missing, according to Mr Salazar, however authorities have not yet determined if the missing firearm is a match for the one found at the scene.
“At this point we don’t suspect foul play,” he said, adding that there were some indicators of self-harm.
“From what’s being described to us, it sounds like it was a young person going through a very tough time in their life”.
Mr Salazar went on to say they had “information that there may have been some suicidal ideations on Camila’s part”.
The body was found in clothing similar to the description of what Ms Olmos may have been wearing at the time of her disappearance.
“This is certainly not the outcome we were hoping for,” Mr Salazar said.
