A teaser trailer and teaser visual have been released for next year’s Gals Can’t Be Kind To Otaku!? (Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa Inai!?) TV anime. Main staff and cast details were also announced.
Sho Komura is playing the titular otaku Takuya Seo. Konomi Inagaki is voicing the dark brown-haired gal Kei Amane, while Yu Serizawa is the blonde gal Kotoko Ijichi.
TMS Entertainment Studio 6 is producing the anime with Arata Mita as director, Kazuhiko Inukai (Bakugan: Armored Alliance, the upcoming Fist of the North Star) as series composer, and Lion Matsuda (Reborn to Master the Blade co-sub-character designer) as character designer and chief animation director.
Gals Can’t Be Kind To Otaku!? is based on the otaku x gal romantic comedy manga written by Norishirochan and drawn by Sakana Uozumi. Yen Press describes the synopsis such:
Meet Takuya Seo, an otaku who sits behind the popular gals in class, Ijichi and Amane. As people from different “castes”, you wouldn’t expect them to have much in common. But when their worlds collide over a borrowed eraser, Takuya slips up about his favorite anime, and Amane…is rather quick to correct him. She says she’s not a fan, but her familiarity with the series suggests otherwise. Could she be…a fellow geek?!

The manga debuted in 2021 in Coamix’s Monthly Comic Zenon and has 11 volumes published under the Zenon Comics label as of October 2025. Volume 12 will be released in Japan on March 19, 2026.
