Gachiakuta Unveils Climax Visual

The BONES FILM-produced Gachiakuta TV anime has received a climax visual as it nears the end of its second cour. The series has three episodes to go, with a total of 24 episodes.

The anime, an adaptation of the action manga by Kei Urana (with graffiti art by Hideyoshi Ando), had its premiere on July 6. It sees a boy called Rudo joining a group called the Cleaners, after being framed for murder and exiled from his floating town to the harsh world below.

The anime’s synopsis reads:

Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss. Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment—exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!

The manga started publication in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine and has 17 volumes as of November 2025. It was a Shonen Category finalist in the 47th and 48th Kodansha Manga Award. Kodansha USA publishes it in English.

Gachiakuta was pushed hard by Crunchyroll, which partnered with KodanshaAvex, and Bones to organize a global “Gachiakuta World Takeover” campaign that included screening events, graffiti murals, and activations.
