The NBA All Star Weekend is getting a serious remix, with USA set to face The World in a brand new tournament format live today on ESPN across Australia and New Zealand.

From Los Angeles, the league’s showpiece event shifts gears with a three team round robin designed to increase competitiveness and showcase the NBA’s global depth of talent.

The 2026 NBA All Star Game introduces USA Stars, USA Stripes and Team World in a four game mini tournament, culminating in a championship clash between the top two sides.

The format opens with USA Stars against Team World, before USA Stripes enter across successive matchups.

Across the weekend, ESPN will deliver comprehensive coverage including the Celebrity Game, Rising Stars Challenge, Three Point Contest, Slam Dunk Contest and the reimagined All Star Game.

The action comes direct from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles as the NBA celebrates its 75th anniversary.

USA Stars feature emerging names including Scottie Barnes, Devin Booker and Anthony Edwards, while USA Stripes lean on experienced campaigners such as LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant.

Team World counters with international heavyweights including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous Alexander and Victor Wembanyama.

ESPN’s coverage also includes special courtside editions of Nothing But Net, with host Kane Pitman broadcasting live from Los Angeles across the weekend.
