From Villainess to Savior Season 2 Spotlights Opening Theme in 2nd Trailer

A second trailer has been revealed for the upcoming second season of The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior, which spotlights the main opening theme song. The second season is scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 7, 2026

The second season’s opening theme that is spotlighted in the trailer is “Ego” by Japanese pop band Retroriron.

Norio Nitta is returning as director for the second season after directing season one. Other returning staff include Deko Akao as series composer and Hitomi Kono as character designer. OLM Team Yoshioka is in charge of the animation production. 

Hanae Nakamura, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Kanade Sakuma, and Junko Nakajima are returning as the music composers, and will be joined in the second season by new composers Misaki Tsuchida, Tsugumi Tanaka, and Kaho Sawada

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast includes:

HIDIVE streamed the anime’s first season in select English-speaking countries and territories, and will do so again for the second season.  

The villainess isekai light novel series is written by Tenichi and illustrated by Suzunosuke, and was first published by Ichijinsha on June 4, 2019. Twelve volumes have been published in Japan as of October 2025. 

The series began as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel on April 19, 2018. It also inspired a manga adaptation by Bunko Matsuura, which ended in late 2022 due to Matsuura’s health. A second manga adaptation drawn by Akiko Kawano was published from June 2023 to December 2024 and a third manga series followed in March 2025.
