Beryl Gardenant is a middle-aged swordsman instructor. Now, he is serving as a special instructor for the Knightly Order and a guardian to orphans, He has gradually settled into life in the capital. Yet, the world around him refused to grant Beryl any peace.
As a swordsman, as a man, Beryl faces a new battle he cannot avoid.
From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman (Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru ~Tada no Inaka no Kenjutsushi han datta noni, Taisei shita Deshittachi ga Ore o Hanatte kurenai Ken~) is based on the fantasy light novel series written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. The book series debuted under Square Enix’s SQUEX Novel label in 2021, and has 10 volumes as of December 2025. J-Novel Club publishes the light novels in English with the subtitle My Hotshot Disciples Are All Grown Up Now, and They Won’t Leave Me Alone.
