Former Pakistani Test Cricketer to Drop New Song Before T20 World Cup 2026

Former Pakistan Test cricketer Fawad Alam is stepping into the music scene, teasing a special track created to rally support for the national team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Fawad has titled the song “Cricket Junoon Bolay” and says it has been produced specifically to lift the mood of Pakistan’s players and fans as the tournament approaches. He has shared a teaser of the project and confirmed the full release is set for February 5.

Here’s the official teaser:

Speaking about his first musical venture, Fawad said the idea behind the song is to build energy around Pakistan’s World Cup campaign. He added that the lyrics and composition were done by Wajid Saeed, while the music video has been directed by Mohsin Talat.

Fawad Alam played 19 Tests, 38 ODIs, and 24 T20Is for Pakistan. He was also part of the squad that lifted the ICC T20 World Cup in 2009, making his World Cup-themed release a personal tribute to a tournament that holds a special place in his career.

On the cricketing front, the Pakistan team has arrived in Sri Lanka for the event and is scheduled to take a two-day break before resuming training. Pakistan will play a warm-up match against Ireland on February 4 as part of its final preparations.

The ICC T20 World Cup is set to begin on February 7, with Pakistan opening its campaign the same day against the Netherlands. The national side will then play the United States on February 10 and Namibia on February 18.

Pakistan, however, will not take the field for its scheduled group match against India on February 15, in line with the government’s decision.
