Officers and paramedics in Cohasset had to carry a person injured in a snowblower accident down a street during Monday’s blizzard to reach an ambulance.

The ambulance then got stuck and had to be shoveled out, Cohasset police shared on Facebook.

The incident was one of several storm-related emergencies reported Monday. Earlier in the day, an ambulance got stuck in the snow in Attleboro after dropping off a patient at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

By Monday night, more than 1,000 Cohasset residents were without power, and numerous roads were blocked by fallen trees and wires, the police department said in a subsequent Facebook post

“Our Department of Public Works crews have been working continuously since the storm began to keep roads open,” police said. “However, due to the duration and severity of this event, crews will need to take mandatory rest periods in the coming hours to ensure safe and effective operations.”
