Fadnavis demands SIR in Maharashtra, says problems with electoral rolls

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the State wants a revision in the electoral rolls in Maharashtra. “We want SIR (Special Intensive Revision) in Maharashtra. There are problems with the electoral rolls, and we have even been raising them. But while the Opposition says there are problems, it opposes SIR,” he said on Wednesday (October 22, 2025). He was speaking with journalists during an informal conversation on the occasion of Diwali at his official residence ‘Varsha’.
