EXCLUSIVE: Titan Manga Previews Art of Grendizer U: The Inception Manga

Titan Manga has released an exclusive art preview of the upcoming first volume of the Grendizer U: The Inception manga. It will be released at bookstores, comic shops, and digital retailers on April 28, 2026.

Grendizer U: The Inception is a manga adaptation of the 2024 TV anime series of the same name. It will feature a prequel story by the anime’s co-scriptwriter Tatsuto Higuchi that has not been previously released.

Go Nagai is credited with the manga’s original story, with artist 8KEY in charge of the illustrations. It was launched on Hero’s Inc.’s Comiplex website on June 28, 2024.

The Grendizer U: The Inception anime series ran for 13 episodes from July 2024 to September 2024. It is part of the Grendizer franchise, which began in the 1970s with the Toei Animation-produced TV anime UFO Robot Grendizer Raids, which ran from 1975 to 1977 with 74 episodes. The series was co-created by Go Nagai and Dynamic Pro.

Another recent manga series in the franchise, Grendizer Giga, was serialized in Akita Shoten’s Champion Red magazine from September 2014 to July 2015. Two total tankobon volumes were released.

Titan Manga describes the main synopsis of the Grendizer U: The Inception manga as:

When a UFO from the Vega Alliance arrives on Earth, humanity faces its biggest threat in an oncoming Alien invasion. But their hope arrives in another Alien, Duke Fleed, a refugee of the planet Fleed who finds his home in Japan. Duke pilots the mighty Grendizer, a weaponized Mech to fight off the Vega forces. Along with his best friend and partner Koji Kabuto, they fight to free Earth from the terror of the Vega forces.

Written by the legendary Go Nagai and illustrated by 8KEY, Grendizer: U The Inception modernizes the iconic story of the lost prince who shoulders the responsibility to protect his new home from the same Empire that destroyed his last.

The manga is now available to pre-order from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, and Forbidden Planet in the U.K.
