From: Geneva, Switzerland

I’m running the 2026 Boston Marathon to support the resilience of trauma survivors, people whose lives changed in a single moment due to severe injury, and who now fight every day to recover what was lost.

I’m a Swiss student spending a year in Boston as a visiting researcher at Harvard Medical School, where I work in neurorehabilitation. My life goal is to help people regain movement and independence after injury. I have seen first-hand how much courage patients need to recover after a severe injury and how much support they and their families require along the way.

This past January, Switzerland was reminded of how suddenly trauma can strike when a devastating fire left many people with severe, life-long injuries. Such events highlight the essential nature of trauma research and rehabilitation, and yet they remain chronically underfunded.

Running the Boston Marathon with the Stepping Strong Center is my way of contributing to change. My goal is to raise $10,000 to support research, rehabilitation, and patient programs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Training for the marathon is challenging, but it’s nothing compared to the daily effort trauma survivors put into taking a step, lifting a hand, or regaining independence. Every training session reminds me why this matters, because behind every statistic is someone trying to stand, move or live independently again.

If this mission resonates with you, I would be grateful for your support. Thank you for your time, your interest, and any help you may choose to offer. It truly means more than I can say.
