Everything happening across Australia in April 2026

April is nearly here, which means the temperatures are starting to drop, and there’s a host of cosy events taking place across Australia. From art exhibitions and live music to food festivals celebrating the new-season produce, there’s no shortage of ways to get out and enjoy the cooler days.

NSW

South Eveleigh’s much-loved Book Club Social is back for 2026. The April instalment will focus on The Names by Florcen Knapp, with bookings now open.

To mark the Anzac Day long weekend, The Dry Dock will be offering two limited specials from 25 April through to 27 April: a flaky lamb rosemary sausage roll, and an ANZAC biscuit ice cream sandwich.

Felons Manly Wharf will open from 6am until late this ANZAC Day. Following the morning services, guests can enjoy a traditional sausage sizzle from 7am in support of Harbord Diggers, along with rounds of two-up on the jetty, and live music from Plump DJs in the Barrel Room.

Celebrate Greek Easter at Homer Rogue Taverna, with a special set menu on April 12 featuring pistachio tsoureki, a traditional Easter sweet bread, as well as slow-roasted lamb and pumpkin cinnamon scrolls. Bookings available here.

ArmsLength in Potts Point will host its first ever wine dinner on April 9, featuring drops by Patch Wines and Juant from the Yarra Valley. There’s also a one-off, paired menu featuring confit duck croquettes with cacio e pepe, pumpkin and ricotta ravioli with burnt butter and sage, and dark chocolate mousse with raspberry sorbet and pistachio. Banksy Limitless is opening in Sydney on April 1, bringing together a powerful collection of the artist’s most recognisable works. Tickets are available here.

Ralph Lauren has launched limited-time Polo Play handbag pop-up at Sydney’s Chatswood Chase, so you can explore the playful energy of the collection in real life. The pop up is open from March 26 until April 6.

Sydney Philharmonia Choirs is returning to the Sydney Opera House on April 4 with one of their most significant annual performances — Bach’s St John Passion, led by renowned Australian conductor Brett Weymark. More details and bookings here.

Celebrate the long weekend with Chiswick’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, on April 3 from 10am-12pm.

VIC

Maison Batard’s Le Club is welcoming legendary Australian jazz musician James Morrison for a rare and intimate live music residency across two nights on 14 and 15 April. Tickets are available here.

Stokehouse will be open across the Easter long weekend, serving its full à la carte menu alongside a weekend-only Easter dessert from the pastry team.

Sydney favourite Ragazzi is taking up residence in Melbourne this month. Ragazzi Residenza will open from April 9 to May 3, with a special menu and wine list devised for the occasion. Bookings are no open here.

 

QLD

Dreamworld’s annual street food festival is back, with menus spanning flavours from Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Tickets are included in Dreamworld entry.

The Queensland Ballet’s production of Messa de Requiem continues until April 4 at QPAC’s Glasshouse Theatre. Tickets are available here. Tickets available here.

Bluewater Festival returns to Shorncliffe Pier on April 2 and 3, with food trucks, bands, fireworks and markets.

The AFL Gather Round takes place from 9–12 April, with 18 teams scheduled to play nine games in total. More details available here.
