A Florida nurse has come under intense scrutiny after he said he would no longer give MAGA patients anaesthesia for surgery.
Erik Martindale, said that he would no longer “perform anaesthesia” for “MAGA” patients in a now-deleted post on social media.
“It is my right, it is my ethical oath, and I stand behind my education,” he said. “I own all of my businesses and I can refuse anyone!”

The business-owner and University of Miami graduate has since had his license revoked after Florida Attorney General, James Uthmeier said, “Effective today, Erik Martindale is no longer a registered nurse in Florida.”
“Healthcare is not contingent on political beliefs, and we have zero tolerance for partisans who put politics above their ethical duty to treat patients with the respect and dignity they deserve,” Mr Uthmeier said in a post on X.
Mr Martindale then backtracked, and said his Facebook and Instagram had been hacked.

According to the Florida Department of Health website, Mr Martindale voluntarily relinquished his license.
An unidentified high-ranking official has confirmed to Fox News that Mr Martindale relinquished his license, and said he broke the compact agreement by moving out of state to Indiana without notifying the Florida Board of Nursing.
It comes just days after another nurse was fired after she wished White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, harm during childbirth in a post to social media.
Alexis “Lexie” Lawler was fired from Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital after she said in a TikTok that she would like to see Ms Leavitt suffer a fourth-degree tear.
In the now-deleted video, Ms Lawler said: “As a labour and delivery nurse, it gives me great joy to wish Karoline Leavitt a fourth-degree tear,” and added, “I hope you rip from bow to stern” along with multiple obscenities.
Her license was revoked on Wednesday.
