Eren the Southpaw Premieres on April 7, Unveils New Character Visuals

The official Twitter/X account of the upcoming Eren the Southpaw TV anime announced that the series will premiere in Japan on April 7, 2026 and also unveiled five new character visuals. 

The character visuals consist of Koichi, Eren, Sayuri, Akari, and Yusuke. 

The anime’s first three episodes will also be screened early in a few select Japanese theaters for one week, starting on March 27, 2026. 

Toshimasa Suzuki (RWBY Ice Queendom, The Price of Smiles) is directing the anime series, with Taku Kishimoto (Sakamoto Days) as series composer, and Yuka Fukuchi and Akane Tamai as character designers and chief animation directors. Takayuki Goto is credited with the animation character design drafts. Signal.MD and Production I.G are handling the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast stars:

  • • Yumi Uchiyama as Eren Yamagishi
  • • Koji Yusa as Hajime Yanagi
  • • Yurina Amami as Yurina Mihashi
  • • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Yusuke Kamiya
  • • Akira Sekine as Akari Kishi
  • • Yui Ishikawa as Sayuri Kato

The series started as a web manga by Kappi, which was followed by a remake series written by Kappi and drawn by nifuni. The remake manga ran on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ from October 7, 2017 to October 8, 2022. A total of 24 physical tankobon volumes were published under the Jump Comic + label.  

The manga also inspired a 10-episode live-action TV drama series.

Eren the Southpaw follows Koichi Asakura, a young designer at an advertising firm who works hard while dreaming of becoming famous, recalling the memory of Eren, a genius he met in his high school days.
