There have always been many reasons to love Molly Gordon – not least of which is her portrayal of Claire Dunlap in the FX comedy drama series The Bear (still really rooting for her and Carmy to get back together officially in the fifth and final season this June).
But Gordon also seems to have a knack for assembling a God-tier cast – and for her next film project with A24 she’s managed to acquire hilarious and gorgeous celebrities like infinity stones. Who knows how far her influence (and casting budget) might extend on this one, but she’s managed to assemble our dream dinner party guests all in one film.
So, who is in Peaked and what is it all about? Here’s what you ned to know.
Who is in the all-star cast?
The latest name to jump aboard is none other than Dua Lipa – who to our knowledge only has one other serious film credit as Mermaid Hair Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s 2023 Barbie film. And as much as we thought she was stellar in that role (who could forget her delivery of her singular line: “”I’m here to see my gynecologist.”), we’re excited to see her hopefully take on a little bit meatier of a role.
Another icon getting their film break in Peaked will be model Alex Consani. It feels only natural as this generation’s goof-ball Cara Delevigne model-ingenue type that she, too, would transition to the world of film in due time. (She’s clearly got impeccable comedic timing – one only needs to look at her TikTok.)
And the rest of the cast is pretty star-studded too: Molly Gordon and Allie Levitan in leading roles, supported by Heated Rivalry‘s Connor Storrie, Emma Mackey, Laura Dern, Bridgerton‘s Simone Ashley, Levon Hawke (brother to Maya), Mitra Jouhari and Gabby Windey.
What is the film about?
Peaked centres on “the two girls who traumatised you in high school as they attempt to relive their former glory at their 10-year reunion.” It’s a premise ripe for comedic catharsis, and will no doubt be expertly delivered thanks to A24’s knack for character-driven comedies that skewer social hierarchies.
When will it be released?
An official release date for Peaked has yet to be announced. With filming scheduled to begin this month, a 2027 release feels likely, but we’ll wait for A24 to confirm a timeline.
