District C-6 Officers Arrest Armed Juvenile Wanted in South Boston Shooting

On Saturday, March 28, 2026, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male on a firearm warrant and additional firearm offenses.

At about 4:20 PM, officers were in the area of F Street and West Sixth Street, having been made aware that a juvenile suspect had an active firearm warrant. As officers traveled on F Street, they observed a group of three males, one of whom was identified as the suspect. Officers exited their cruiser and placed the suspect into handcuffs. During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield from the suspect’s waistband. The firearm had one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine.

The suspect was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred at approximately 12:36 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2026. At about 12:03 AM that morning, officers from District A-1 responded to Massachusetts General Hospital for a walk-in gunshot victim. The victim sustained wounds to the arm and chest and reported that the incident occurred in the area of Dorchester Street in South Boston. District C-6 was notified and detectives responded. Officers canvassed the area and, based on witness statements, the incident is believed to have occurred in the area of West Eighth Street and F Street. The Crime Scene Response Unit responded and photographed the scene. A vehicle connected to the incident was located and towed for further processing. The victim underwent surgery and was subsequently listed in stable condition.

After further investigation, District C-6 Detectives obtained a warrant out of Suffolk County Juvenile Court for the following offenses in connection with the February 19 shooting:

  • carrying a firearm without a license
  • carrying a loaded firearm without a license
  • armed assault to murder
  • discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building
  • possession of ammunition without an FID card

The 17-year-old juvenile male is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on the following charges stemming from the March 28 arrest:

  • carrying a firearm without a license
  • carrying a loaded firearm without a license
  • possession of ammunition without an FID card
