Timothee Chalamet overcame his self-confessed nerves to pay tribute to girlfriend Kylie Jenner at the Critics Choice Awards.
In accepting the best actor gong for his performance in Marty Supreme, he saved his message to Jenner for the end of his speech. He said, “Thank you to my partner of three years, thank you for our foundation. I love you, I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” to a beaming Jenner who mouthed back, “I love you”.
Chalamet and Jenner have become a fixture on his promotional tour for Marty Supreme, and now in the thick of awards season. The previous night, she had supported him at the Palm Springs Film Festival where he was presented with the Spotlight Actor of the Year during a gala.

The couple had also posed in matching orange outfits at Marty Supreme’s Los Angeles premiere in December, which Critics Choice Awards attendees, Paul Downs and Meg Stalter from Hacks, had spoofed in tribute.
Chalamet is a frontrunner to nab his first Oscar in March, following two previous nominations, for his committed work in Marty Supreme, in which he plays a 1950s New York City hustler and ping pong champion.
One Battle After Another was the big winner of the awards, where it was, unsurprisingly, crowned best picture, and best director and best adapted screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson.

But its nominated stars missed out on acting awards amid tough competition this year, losing to Chalamet in best actor, Jessie Buckley (Hamnet) in best actress, Amy Madigan (Weapons) in best supporting actress and Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein) in best supporting actor.
Frankenstein also picked up a clutch of other awards in the technical categories, for production design, costume design, and hair and make-up, while Sinners took home the best young actor for Miles Caton, original screenplay for Ryan Coogler as well as awards for casting and score.
KPop Demon Hunters also won for animated feature while chart-topping earworm, Golden, triumphed in the song category.
The Critics Choice Awards don’t have any crossover voters with the Oscars but is still considered a semi-notable event during the awards season because it has a flashy broadcast in the US, a star-studded red carpet, and can create momentum for a film or star’s Oscar campaign if they win.
Australian actor Sarah Snook won a best actress in a limited series award in the TV categories for her role in pulpy crime drama All Her Fault.
