Two of British television’s most enduring soaps are set to make history, with Coronation Street and Emmerdale officially coming together in the ambitious crossover special Corriedale, confirmed to air on UKTV in Australia this January.
Starring Vicky Myers as DS Lisa Swain from Coronation Street and Danny Miller as Aaron Dingle from Emmerdale, Corriedale brings the two long running soaps together in a first of its kind crossover event.
Set against the Pennines, the special sees characters from Weatherfield and Hotten collide following a dramatic multi vehicle pile up, blending high stakes drama with emotionally driven storylines.

Iain MacLeod, Executive Producer at ITV Studios Continuing Drama, described the crossover as an ambitious television event designed to celebrate the scale and storytelling of British soaps, with the production featuring large stunts not previously attempted across either series.
“This television event is hugely ambitious with never before seen stunts.”
The crossover arrives as part of UKTV’s broader British soap offering in Australia, which includes Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders.
Both flagship soaps continue to resonate locally, with Coronation Street recently featuring a surprise guest appearance from Australian actor and singer Jason Donovan.
Sarah Kenny, Head of Content and Editorial at BritBox and BBC Studios Branded Services ANZ, said the strong appetite for British soaps among Australian audiences made UKTV the natural home for the crossover, pointing to consistent viewer engagement across its Foxtel and Fetch distribution.
“It’s clear that Aussie fans can’t get enough of legendary British soaps.”
UKTV has also confirmed an upcoming flashforward episode of EastEnders, set in 2027, which will air locally in February and jump one year into Max Branning’s future, teasing storylines still to unfold.
Australian viewers can watch the Corriedale crossover special exclusively on UKTV on Tuesday January 27 at 6.40pm AEDT, with the event also available live and on demand via Foxtel and Fetch.
