Pepper Cheese isn’t just another new burger spot hitting the Blackwood food scene; it’s a way to give back to the community. The juicy burger joint will be opening this February in what was previously known as Benny’s American Burger, in Blackwood on Main Road.

The venture is shared by three individuals who have the same vision but are taking a leap right into the deep end, with their first dive into the hospitality scene. There’s Sam, who migrated to Australia in 2018 and currently runs a business in telecommunications – he’ll be the go-to guy for marketing, advertising and customer service.

Then there’s Hussain Makhani, aka Huss, currently operating in the telecommunications industry, who will manage administrative operations. The last of the three is Zakariya Makhani, who will lead kitchen management and day-to-day operations, ensuring consistency, quality and efficiency from behind the scenes.

“Although hospitality is a new chapter for us, our combined business experience gives us a strong foundation and a fresh perspective on how to do things differently and better,” Sam said.

Pepper Cheese was inspired by the trio’s pure passion. “Hospitality was always the dream that stayed in the back of our minds.”

“We’ve always loved great food, bold flavours, and the way a good burger can bring people together.”

The vibe is laid back and relaxed, and although their menu hasn’t been finalised, we’ve got some juicy insights about their even juicier burgers.

“Quality comes first,” Sam said. “Expect juicy, flavour-packed burgers made with care, bold toppings and our signature pepper-cheese touch.”

That’s right, you heard it in the name, and you’re hearing it here again. A special signature pepper-cheese sauce, the unusual combination sounds interesting but drool-worthy nevertheless.

“There will a couple of things in menu which will be introduced for the first time in Adelaide,” Sam told us. “We are sure that once our menu is revealed, the community will be happy to see that variety which we will be bringing apart from just selling traditional burgers.”

The menu is inspired by those nights we feel like ordering a bit of comfort food, along with a refreshing drink to wash it all down. Come alone, with a friend, or even your whole family – it’s a place where everyone is welcome.

Giving back to the community is a core part of Pepper Cheeses’ purpose. As a gesture of gratitude for the community support, the team will be giving away 20 free meals every Tuesday to people experiencing homelessness or hardship.

“With the continued support of our customers, we are committed to increasing the number of free meals over time, allowing us to give back even more and make a positive difference within the community.”

While they are still in the stages of rebuilding the store at the previous site known as Benny’s American Burger, the shop is expected to be open seven days a week from their opening date, for lunch and late night bites.
