There’s a new sando spot in the works for the Adelaide CBD, from the people behind California resort style rooftop bar Two Suns and city microbrewery Lady Burra Brewhouse. The new cafe Ella Sando has received a vibrant fit out with light-wood accents that pull each corner together. Both the interior and exterior feature eye catching red walls.
The new spot is still in early stages but plans to serve “sandos, cakes, [and] coffee” when the doors are eventually opened. At this stage the opening date is still under wraps.
The project will be the latest by Kidd Retail Group, the team behind a collective of prominent Adelaide venues including Two Suns, Lady Burra, Bckyrd, and Girl Next Door.
The sando spot is set to open its doors in the same precinct as Two Suns, also at 41 Currie Street, and Lady Burra Brewhouse, around the corner in Topham Mall. Two Suns opened its doors late last year to an ecstatic reception that praised the views, its retro-tropical fit out, and the lively party vibe.
Lady Burra Brewhouse, if it’s not already, should be firmly pencilled in to your summer bar list. It’s a modern, industrial-esque brewery inside, and a fresh, plant-filled terrace on the outside, with a second floor balcony where you can catch all the best laneway people-watching.
While we await Ella Sando’s all-important opening, it’s well worth heading to the rooftop and taking in the spectacular views, or peeking around the corner and grabbing a few sneaky brewed-in-house beverages, especially as the warmer weather rolls in.
