Children’s TV favourite Emma Watkins joins POSTCARDS for country escape

Children’s entertainer Emma Watkins is set to make a special guest appearance on Postcards, joining the long running travel series for a regional Victorian tour this weekend.

Watkins, the former Yellow Wiggle now performing as ‘Emma Memma’, steps into the guest presenter role as the team travel through some of Victoria’s most picturesque regional towns and suburban pockets, spotlighting local dining and history.

Her segment tonight sees her head to Trentham on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, nestled within the Wombat State Forest, where she begins at the new headquarters of Sisko Chocolate Studio founded by artisan Christina Tantsis.

After browsing antiques at Mrs Murphy’s, she visits Adeline on Market Street, a cafe and wine bar that has quickly established itself as a local favourite.

Elsewhere, 9 News presenter Madeline Spark explores The Basin on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country, described as a secret village in Melbourne’s outer east.

She stops at 1 in 20 Cafe, an unofficial clubhouse for cyclists tackling the Dandenong Ranges climb, before visiting the volunteer run Basin Theatre and concluding at The Peacock Den wine bar.

Chef and restaurateur Shane Delia travels west to Wallace on Wathaurong Country, calling in at the Old Wallace Garage for coffee before continuing on to Buninyong.

There he visits Red Door Pizza for wood fired offerings and live music, and The Buninyong Hotel, recently taken over by Gorgi and Simon Coghlan.

This new episode of Postcards airs today, Sunday March 1, at 5.30pm on Channel 9 in Victoria and 9Now – check local guides.
