The official Twitter/X account of the upcoming Champignon no Majo TV anime series announced the casting of Shoya Chiba as the young man Henri. The anime will begin broadcasting in Japan on January 8, 2026, with the first two episodes slated to air consecutively as an hour-long special.
Chiba joins a previously announced voice cast that stars:
- • Haruka Shiraishi as Luna
- • Yuki Sakakihara as Lize
- • Jun Fukushima as Claude
- • Emiri Kato as Minos
- • Miho Okasaki as Merino
- • Misato Fukuen as Sisi
Additionally, TBS Animation posted a new special trailer of the series on its YouTube channel, which features the main opening theme “Mahotsukai no Nikki” by Rosu.
Yosuke Kubo (Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools) is directing the anime series, with Yuko Kakihara (The Apothecary Diaries scenario supervisor) as series composer and Miki Matsumoto (Major 2nd: Season 2) as character designer. Typhoon Graphics and Qzil.la are handling the animation production for the series.
The anime series adapts the fantasy manga series by Tachibana Higuchi, which was first serialized in Hakusensha’s Manga Park on October 18, 2019. Six tankobon volumes have been released as of December 2024, with a seventh volume set to be published in Japan on January 20, 2026.

Champignon no Majo follows a young witch named Luna, who is known in her community as the Mushroom Witch because of the poisonous mushrooms that sprout in her presence.
