Bugti says 25,000 jobs being offered on merit

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has announced that advertisements for more than 25,000 government posts from Grade 1 to Grade 15 have been issued, aiming to strengthen good governance that ensures eligible candidates get jobs ‘purely on merit’.

The chief minister said the provincial government was taking practical steps to provide dignified employment opportunities to the youth of Balochistan.

Sharing details of the initiative on social media platform X, Mr Bugti said a summary of 4,000 vacant posts of Grades 16 and 17 has been sent to the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) and recruitment on these positions will be made through a transparent and fair process.

He said that in departments where tests and interviews had already been completed, appointment letters would be issued promptly to avoid unnecessary delays.

Mr Bugti also announced that an online testing system, similar to the one used by the finance department, would be introduced for vacancies in other departments.

This system, he said, would ensure recruitment of candidates purely on merit, eliminating favouritism and corruption.

He made it clear that jobs meant for the people of Balochistan would not be traded or sold and every eligible candidate will be given his/her rightful opportunity strictly on merit.
