Brisbane Roar dealt double injury blow: A-League News

Brisbane Roar have confirmed forwards Nick D’Agostino and Chris Long will both be sidelined for up to six weeks due to injury.

Both players lasted less than 45 minutes during the Roar’s 1-1 draw with Perth Glory in Round 19 of the Isuzu UTE A-League.

Long was forced off with an ankle issue after just 33 minutes with scans now confirming the Englishman’s season could be over.

Meanwhile Socceroos hopeful D’Agostino was withdrawn at half-time of the clash at Kayo Stadium due to a knee injury and could also now miss the remainder of the campaign due to the extent of the injury.

The news comes as a hammer blow for Head Coach Michael Valkanis with Brisbane still in the mix for a finals place with just six games to go in the regular season.

Despite registering just one win in their last nine matches the Roar currently sit in 8th place on the ladder, two points outside the top six.

Brisbane are next in action when they face the Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday, March 18.
