BPL Franchise Signs Another Pakistani Star All-Rounder

Rajshahi Warriors have added Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz to their squad for the 2026 Bangladesh Premier League, completing a major overseas signing just one day before the players’ auction.

The franchise had earlier secured top-order Pakistani batter Sahibzada Farhan, filling both international signing slots permitted before the draft.

Tournament regulations allow each team to recruit two local and two foreign players directly ahead of the auction. With Nawaz and Farhan on board, Rajshahi have now locked in their overseas contingent.

Nawaz joins the BPL with strong recent form and a wealth of franchise-league experience. The left-arm spinner and middle-order hitter has appeared in leading T20 competitions around the world, including the PSL, BPL, BBL, CPL, LPL, and GT20 Canada. He is no stranger to Bangladesh’s league, having previously represented Rajshahi Royals, Khulna Tigers, and Rangpur Riders.

For Pakistan, he has played 85 T20Is, scoring 839 runs at a strike rate of 136 and taking 83 wickets. Across all T20s, he boasts 3,709 runs and 250 wickets.

Rajshahi has also fully utilized their local direct-signing options, bringing in two proven Bangladeshi top-order batters, Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Najmul Hossain Shanto, both expected to be key figures in the upcoming campaign.

The franchise has rounded off its pre-auction preparations by finalising its coaching panel. Former Bangladesh international Hannan Sarkar will take charge as head coach, while national ex-batter Rajin Saleh, currently working with the BCB High Performance Unit, has been named senior assistant coach.
