Bowlers shine as Delhi Capitals crush RCB to climb second spot in WPL 2026

A disciplined bowling performance followed by a calm, composed chase helped Delhi Capitals Women register a convincing seven-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in Match 15 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 at the Kotambi Stadium. After opting to bowl first, DC kept RCB under pressure throughout the innings and wrapped up the chase with more than four overs to spare.

Bowlers sizzle to keep RCB at under-par total

Put in to bat, RCB Women never really found momentum and were bowled out for 109 in 20 overs. Captain Smriti Mandhana stood tall amid the collapse, top-scoring with a fighting 38 off 34 balls, striking six fours and a six. Grace Harris and Georgia Voll got starts but failed to convert them into substantial contributions, leaving RCB wobbling in the powerplay.

The middle order crumbled under sustained pressure as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Radha Yadav added some late resistance with an 18-run cameo, but the total always looked below par on a surface that offered decent value for shots.

Delhi Capitals’ bowling unit shared the spoils. Nandani Sharma was the standout, picking up three wickets, while Marizanne Kapp and Chinelle Henry chipped in with two wickets each. Minnu Mani’s tidy spell further ensured RCB never recovered from early setbacks.

Laura Wolvaardt anchors chase with clinical knock

Chasing 110, Delhi Capitals Women got off to a brisk start despite losing a couple of early wickets. Shafali Verma’s quick 16 off eight balls provided early intent, while Laura Wolvaardt anchored the innings with a composed 42 off 38 deliveries, timing the ball beautifully and keeping the chase on track.

Jemimah Rodrigues played the perfect supporting role, scoring a steady 24, before Marizanne Kapp finished the job with an unbeaten 19 off 15 balls. DC reached 111 for 3 in just 15.4 overs, ensuring a comfortable win.

For RCB, Sayali Satghare was the lone bright spot with the ball, picking up two wickets, while Radha claimed one. However, the lack of scoreboard pressure meant the bowlers had little margin for error. The seven-wicket win gives Delhi Capitals Women a valuable boost in the WPL 2026 standings as they climbed to 2nd spot.
