The opening and first ending animation sequences for Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk, which began airing on April 10 at 24:00 JST (effectively April 11 at 00:00 JST), have been released on Aniplex’s YouTube channel.
The opening animation, which features a 4:3 ratio and simulates a handheld camera capturing various moments in the characters’ lives, is storyboarded and directed by China (The Apothecary Diaries Episode 4 storyboard artist and director, director and original character designer for Mafumafu‘s “Sore o Ai to Yobu Dake” music video).
Meanwhile, the painterly ending is drawn by the show’s character designer Ko Yoshinari (White Album animation designer, Made in Abyss creature designer).
Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk (Kamiina Botan, Yoeru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana) is based on the drinking-themed yuri manga by Hei. Crunchyroll, Bilibili, and iQIYI are among the platforms streaming the show. Crunchyroll’s synopsis reads:
New university life, new dormmates…and a whole new world of drinks! Botan Kamiina takes her first sip of alcohol after spotting the quiet dorm leader, Ibuki Tonami, enjoying a highball alone. From shochu to whisky, Botan shares the joy of drinking with friends, while Ibuki slowly learns that some pleasures are better when shared.
The manga began serialization on Akita Shoten’s Manga Cross in 2019 and will release its eighth volume on May 20, 2026 in Japan. It is currently serialized on Champion Cross.
