The decision is a blow for the Eagles, as Carmody was their leading scorer in the 2025-26 season. Carmody led BC with 12.8 points per game, while adding 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. She was also the only Eagle to average a double digit point tally.
Carmody, originally from Melbourne, Australia, transferred to BC after one season at Butler where she averaged 6.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. She shot 47.2% from the field during her one year in Chestnut Hill.
The Eagles struggled mightily throughout the 2025-26 campaign, finishing with an overall record of 5-26 and recording just one win in ACC play. That win came on February 19 when BC took a 77-59 victory over SMU. Carmody tallied a game-high 27 points against the Mustangs and played all 40 minutes.
Head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee was not retained for the 2026-27 season, and new head coach Kate Popovec-Goss will look to begin a new era in Chestnut Hill.
She’ll have to do it without a steady producer in Carmody.

UConn men’s basketball beat writer David Borges put an end to the rumor that UConn’s Director of Player Development, Mamadou Diarra, would join Luke Murray at BC.
That rumor that Mamadou Diarra might join Luke Murray’s staff at Boston College?
“Not happening,” per Murray.

Boston College Quote of the Day:
“The Big East Tournament was one of the most amazing events to watch, and I remember watching Pearl Washington my senior year in high school going in the Big East Tournament, going down there to watch that, and I was totally blown away. I had been to NBA games, but I had never been in an atmosphere like that. Man, it was just — Madison Square Garden was kind of the mecca for me as a college player to get to that, to try to play at least more than one game for once in the Big East Tournament.”
