‘Bigfoot!’ Off Broadway Musical Comedy Casts Tony Nominee Grey Henson as the Creature

From The Legend of Boggy Creek and Harry and the Hendersons to Exists and Willow Creek, there’s no shortage of Bigfoot representation in film. Now the mythical creature is the subject of a musical.

Bigfoot! is set for an eight-week Off Broadway engagement in 2026.

Tony nominee Grey Henson (Mean Girls) will star as the titular beast opposite Crystal Lucas-Perry, Katerina McCrimmon, and Alex Moffat (“Saturday Night Live”) as the Mayor.

The musical comedy features a book by Amber Ruffin (“Late Night with Seth Meyers”) and Kevin Sciretta (“Mystery Science Theater 3000”), lyrics by Ruffin, music by David Schmoll (The Second City), and direction and choreography by Danny Mefford (Dear Evan Hansen),

Set in the town of Muddirt, a glow-in-the-dark oasis that exists somewhere between a chemical dump site and a nuclear power plant, Bigfoot! is a larger-than-life tale of corrupt politicians, small town paranoia, and misunderstood youth.

When that youth happens to be eight feet tall, innocent, and in dire need of electrolysis, it makes him more than a target. It makes him the subject of a can’t-myth musical comedy.

Produced by Benson Drive in association with Manhattan Theatre Club, Bigfoot! begins previews at New York City Center Stage 1 on February 11 ahead of its official opening night on March 1.
