Bangladesh Levels U19 T20 Series with Win Over Pakistan

Bangladesh levelled the U19 Women’s T20 series after Habiba Islam took four wickets to help the team earn a close three-wicket win over Pakistan in the second match on Friday.

The victory meant Bangladesh go into Sunday’s decider with renewed confidence.

Pakistan captain Eman Naseer chose to bat first, but the decision did not work in the visitors’ favor as they were restricted to 80 for 7 in 20 overs.

Wicketkeeper-batter Komal Khan top-scored with a hard-earned 28 off 42 balls, while Zoofishan Ayyaz (17) and opener Ravail Farhan (15) were the only other players to reach double figures.

Habiba Islam led the damage with an impressive 4 for 17, and she was backed by Otoshi Mojumder and Jarin Tasnem, who picked up a wicket each.

Bangladesh’s chase was steady, anchored by opener Sumaiya Akther, who made 32 from 38 balls and held the innings together until the 17th over.

After her departure, Sadia Akter kept her composure and finished the job with an unbeaten 13 off 10 balls, taking the hosts to the target with six balls left.

For Pakistan, Memoona Khalid and Aleesa Mukhtiar claimed two wickets each, while Mahnoor Zeb, Rozina Akram, and Shahar Bano added one apiece.

With the series now tied 1-1, all attention turns to Sunday, where the third and final match will decide the winner as both sides get ready to face each other.
