Bangladesh Announces T20 World Cup 2026 Squad

Bangladesh has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, even as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) continues to press the ICC to move its India-based fixtures to Sri Lanka over security concerns.

Here is Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup squad with Litton Das as captain.

Bangladesh are placed in Group C at the T20 World Cup. Under the existing ICC schedule, Bangladesh are slated to start their campaign against the West Indies on 7 February at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, face Italy and England at the same venue on 9 and 14 February, and conclude the group stage against Nepal on 17 February at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

However, the venues for these matches remain uncertain from Bangladesh’s perspective. In an earlier decision, the BCB resolved to write to the ICC asking that Bangladesh’s World Cup games scheduled in India be shifted to Sri Lanka, the tournament’s co-host, due to security concerns for Bangladeshi players in India.

That request is tied to the wider dispute that followed Mustafizur Rahman’s release from the IPL by Kolkata Knight Riders on the instructions of the BCCI, a move that prompted the BCB to question the overall security environment and to seek clarity from the ICC on protections for its national team.
