Proposed tougher laws on racial vilification have been temporarily dropped by the federal government due to political backlash.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Saturday announced on the government’s proposed bill will be altered before it’s brought before parliament on Monday.
Albanese said it will be separated to only include gun law reforms, choosing to pull back from racial vilification legislation as it was “clear” it wouldn’t have the support of the Senate.
