Warner Bros. Japan has unveiled the teaser trailer for the Demons’ Crest TV anime, an adaptation of Sword Art Online author Reki Kawahara‘s latest series. There’s also a teaser visual and some staff and cast details, plus the announcement of a 2026 premiere window and the reveal of Devils’ Crest as the English title.
Haruka Shiraishi and Konomi Inagaki are voicing twin siblings Yuma Ashihara and Sawa Ashihara, respectively. Much of the short teaser seems to depict the event described in the first volume’s synopsis, that of Yuma coming across classmate Sumika, now turned into a monster after the virtual reality MMORPG Actual Magic fuses with their world. The end sees Sawa, clad in a devil-like outfit, declaring that dying will result in an actual death.

The Demons’ Crest light novel series (Yen Press publishes it in English under that title) began in 2022 and has four volumes as of 2025. It falls under KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko label/imprint. The synopsis from Yen Press reads:
Sixth-grader Yuuma Ashihara and his twin sister, Sawa, are playing Actual Magic , a brand-new virtual reality MMORPG, when it suddenly begins fusing with the real world. Amid all the chaos and confusion, it becomes clear that death is lurking around every corner, including when Yuuma runs into his classmate Sumika. Before, she was one of the cutest girls in his class, but she’s since undergone a terrible metamorphosis—into one of the game’s horrifying monsters! From the author of Sword Art Online and Accel World comes a story beyond VR and AR, where gaming and reality are one and the same…and staying alive is just the beginning!
Demons’ Crest also has a webtoon drawn by TOmoe with scripts by Koroku Takano. It’s published on Hyke Comic.
