Alaya F’s fashion explorations span Y2K nostalgia in micro minis and playful silhouettes, to Audrey Hepburn–inspired gowns that lean into old-world elegance. It’s this oscillation between eras that defines her sartorial identity. Her oxblood lehenga by Diya Rajvvir sits at that intersection.
“The silhouette melts over the body, sculpted yet fluid, tracing elegance with a gentle glow, while the sumptuous luxury fabric drapes like poetry in motion,” share designers Diya and Rajvvir Aroraa of DiyaRajvvir. Instead of the usual voluminous lehengas, her skirt flows into a mermaid cut that skims the body. The blouse is the ensemble’s standout element–a corset-style sweetheart neckline sculpts the torso, while sheer, crystal-embellished sleeves add sensuality. Delicate beaded strings cascade from the hem, functioning almost like body jewellery.
“Each crystal and traditional cutdana was lovingly hand-picked, then patiently sewn together,” the duo reveal. “Over two months, this piece came to life in the hands of master artisans, where time softened into devotion.”
Despite the lehenga’s opulence, Alaya kept the accessorising pared-down to let the outfit remain the protagonist. She paired the look with dainty diamond studs and a cocktail ring by Mahrukh Akuly. With her hair styled in a straight blow-dry, her makeup matched the lehenga’s mood with smoky eyes and hints of red shimmer, nude lips and a sweep of highlighter. From styling to silhouette, her look feels tailor-made for a bride’s cocktail party or a sangeet soirée. Add a diamond tennis necklace, and you have a vision for a glamorous night.
