West Australian forward Oliver Wolmarans has claimed the honour of the country’s top AFLW prospect after being taken with the top pick by Richmond on Monday.
The Subiaco product was a strong contender with the Tigers weighing up three players in the hours before being on the clock.
But her work against mature opposition in the WAFLW as well as a dominant under 18s championship campaign pushed Wolmarans name above the rest.

WA Football’s female talent boss Trent Cooper said the 18-year-old was one of the most unique talents in the 2025 draft crop and added she would be a nightmare matchup for anyone who draws the short straw to play on her.
“There’s no one really like her that can do what she can do,” he said ahead of the draft.
“And she’s worked really hard as well. Unbelievable endurance, she’s going to be a really hard match-up right from the start in the AFLW.”
